Dental Check-up

Keep your teeth clean, healthy, and problem-free with a regular dentist-supervised check-up. Many oral issues—plaque build-up, cavities, bleeding gums, and tooth pain—are preventable when we catch them early.

How often should you go?
Most patients benefit from a 6-month visit. If you have higher risk (frequent sweets, history of decay, gum issues, or medications that cause dry mouth), we may recommend more frequent reviews to protect your smile.

What happens during a check-up

  • Professional Cleaning (Scaling & Polishing). Removes plaque/tartar and surface stains to prevent gum disease and decay.

  • Comprehensive Examination. Visual & periodontal check of teeth, gums, bite, and soft tissues.

  • X-rays (as needed). To spot hidden decay, bone loss, or issues not visible to the eye.

  • Oral Cancer Screening. A quick exam of lips, tongue, cheeks, palate, and throat for early changes.

  • Preventive Care. Fluoride varnish, fissure sealants (when indicated), and a personalized home-care plan.

Who benefits from more frequent visits?
Patients with weak enamel, active gum concerns, high-sugar diets, smokers, orthodontic appliances, or dry mouth due to certain medicines.

How often should I book a dental check-up?

Every 6 months for most patients. Higher-risk patients may benefit from shorter intervals (your dentist will guide you).

Do I really need a professional cleaning if I brush/floss?

Yes. Tartar (hardened plaque) can’t be removed at home. Scaling and polishing keep gums healthy and reduce risk of decay.

Are X-rays safe?

Dental X-rays use low radiation and are taken only when needed. We follow safety protocols and use protective measures.

Will a check-up whiten my teeth?

A cleaning removes surface stains. If you want lighter shades beyond that, ask about Teeth Whitening options.

I have bleeding gums—can I still come in?

Please do. Bleeding is a sign of irritation/inflammation. Early treatment prevents progression.

What if I feel tooth sensitivity after cleaning?

Temporary sensitivity can happen. It usually settles; we can advise desensitizing toothpaste and technique adjustments.

Do you treat kids and adults?

Yes—complete family dental care, including preventive visits for children.

Which services can be added during my visit?

Fluoride, sealants, fillings for early cavities, periodontal care, or referrals for orthodontics/cosmetics as needed.
